La Casa in October: colourful and tasty

October is a tasteful and colourful month for La Casa in Chianti di San Donato to enjoy the colours of the grapes harvest and eventually of the olives harvest. Set on a white typical Chianti road, one of those run by the international cycle contest L’Eroica on the first week-end of the month, La Casa is there to accommodate you in its beautiful enironment, with the pool which is still functioning and a good 20% rebate on normal prices.

Harvest Time: our tasteful Uva Fragola – Strawberry Grapes are ripe!

September at La Casa has been particularly sunny, and all of a sudden we realized that we have plenty of “decoration” grapes but so tasty, especially those of Fico’s pergola! They are called “straberry” grapes – uva fragola – for their special taste and aroma, so we have decided to pick some of them in order to try an experiment: the production of grapes juice.

In only one day we have harvested 8 boxes of grapes and we have produced 65 liters of tasteful juice that the tourists can taste on demand.

Le mois de Septembre à La Casa in Chianti di S.Donato a été particulièrement ensoleillé et tout-à-coup nous avons réalisé que comme chaque année à la meme époque nous avions plein de raisins “uva fragola” à cueillir. Il était dommage de les laisser tomber sans rien faire, nous avons donc décidé d’en cueillir une petite partie – la production de la pergola est si généreuse et pourtant nous n’avons RIEN FAIT pour en augmenter la productivité, il s’agit simplement d’une générosité de la natura… en une journée nous avons récolté 8 caisses de raisins dont nous avons extrait un délicieux jus, au gout particulier de raisins “fraise”.
